Can I play if I am not a member?
Yes you can. There is a visitors fee of £5.00 per hour. You can visit a maximum of 2 times in any one season. You can see full details by clicking on the Visitors button on the home page.
Do you do a monthly membership?
No. However, if you are joining late in the season you can contact the Membership Secretary who may be able to help
Are the courts locked?
No, the courts are never locked and you are welcome to play between 9am and 10pm 365 days a year.
How do I pay for the Floodlights?
FLOODLIGHT OPERATION USING ACCESS CODES
DALTC has 6 floodlit all weather courts enabling evening play throughout the year until 10.00pm daily. The floodlights are operated via the use of “access” codes which can be purchased from the vending machine situated within the clubhouse. The codes contain either 2 (1 hour) or 4 credits (2 hours) and cost £5 and £10 respectively. If you do not use all of your access code’s credit the system will remember the balance remaining for future use so retain your code until all the credits have been used after which it can be discarded. To use the access codes follow the step by step written instructions displayed on the wall surrounding the floodlight controller. Shelf 407 of the vending machine dispenses 1 hour codes and shelf 408 2 hour codes. The codes are provided in small white plastic wallets which are re-usable so please leave these in the drawer to the left hand side of the vendor for future use once you have removed your code. ("Privileged users" should continue to use their previously assigned password for events, team matches and coaching. Personal use will require the purchase of an access code as described above.)
Is there a club house?
Yes, we have a clubhouse with toilets and changing facilities, together with a lounge area with TV and a small kitchen.
Are there spectator facilities?
Yes, spectators are always welcome.
Is there a limit to the number of times I can play?
No, you can play as many times as you want.
I don't want to pay my subscription online, can I pay by cheque?
It is much easier for us as a club if you use the online forms and payment platform when joining. We do however appreciate that this may not always be possible. Application forms are always available in the club house. All you have to do is complete a form and send it together with your cheque and a stamped addressed envelope to the Membership Secretary (address on the form).
Can I hire or borrow a racquet ?
No, we do not hire or loan rackets. However, you can buy balls from the Club's vending machine.
Is there always a court available?
Although we cannot guarantee that there will always be a free court when you arrive at the Club, with 6 all weather courts and 3 grass courts this is nevertheless often the case. Much will depend on the time of day and the day of the week. At peak times (6 p.m to 8.30 p.m weekdays) you may have to wait a short while until a previous four have finished their set but you'll always get a game.
For scheduled court usage we have a large 'Court allocation' board outside the clubhouse. This covers coaching, matches and other pre-booked usage.
Can I get coaching?
Yes, we have excellent coaching available for both adult and junior members. Visit our Coaching page on the website for details.
Can I bring my dog?
No, for Health and Safety reasons we have a "strictly no dogs allowed" policy at the club.
Is there car parking at the club?
Yes, there is a large car park free to all members when using the Club's facilities.
Can I join one of the teams?
This will depend to some extent on your standard. We have over 20 junior, adult and senior teams. If you've played team tennis previously, then we would be interested in you attending practice sessions and social play sessions to establish where you would fit in for the club's teams.
How much does it cost to be a member at the club?
This will depend on your age and, perhaps, other factors too. A full adult membership is £180.00 p.a. with Junior membership starting at £55.00 p.a. A whole family (including up to 4 children under the age of 18) can join for just £350.00. One parent families should contact our Membership secretary who can agree a fee based on your family circumstances.

Can I play after 10pm?
No, out of consideration for the neighbouring residents, all play must end at 10.00 p.m. although you can still use the clubhouse after you’ve finished playing. The floodlights are pre-programmed to switch off automatically at 10.00 p.m. Team captains are asked to ensure that all match play is also completed by 10.00 pm.
Is there a good social side to the Club?
Yes, there is a large variety of off-court activities available for all ages throughout the year. For further details please see the section on the website devoted to Social Events.
Data Protection for members
What personal information does the club hold for members and why?
Are there any rules on clothing and footwear?
You must wear appropriate tennis footwear. While there are no formal rules on clothing, it is expected that members and visitors will wear appropriate tennis attire.
Are there any tournaments at the club?
We have regular tournaments for all ages and abilities throughout the year, culminating in the annual club championship tournament in September.
